What to Wear to Court

As I was in court today, I noticed something, a man wearing basketball shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals. This, I submit, is not proper attire for court.

If you are arrested and you have checked your court date on the Clerk’s website (Broward, Dade, Palm Beach), then make sure you are wearing something that demonstrates to the Judge that you respect Him/Her as well as the courtroom.

If you have any further questions about proper attire, please contact me

What are your rights

This can seem like a simple question that most, if not everyone, believes they know the answer to but what are they truly? Your rights are those expectations and privileges you possess given to you under the United States Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and the Florida Constitution.

Most people believe you simple possess the right to an attorney or the right to be free from unreasonable seizures by the police, but the reality is, you possess so many more. Feel free to contact me at my website, PhillipMenditto.com, to discuss even more.

Knowing your rights can possible save you if every stopped or improperly detained by the police. Remember, if the police do not follow the law, then the evidence they seize can, and in most cases will be excluded from evidence in your arrest and trial.
